Tatsu Yamashiro is a Japanese widow, once a mother and a wife. She was married to a man named Maseo and had two children. Yuki and Reiko. While she was good as a wife and loyal that came with a cost.Maseo was not exactly a good man. He had his own darkness and his own chaos thanks to the Yakuza, and he didn't just drag Tatsu along at times. His brother was involved. At first the story said that Tatsu was involved between the two brothers, causing Maseo to die by the sword he held and it made her run away.In her panic she ran and forgot the candles, that caused her children to burn to death inside the burning house. But this messy backstory was changed to the one this account uses; The brother in law Takeo betrayed and killed his own brother to claim Tatsu for himself by force.Burning her house and forced her to see her children die inside, only for her rage to make her kill him and take revenge...after it was too late, thus Katana was born. The sword she killed Takeo with, the same one he used to kill her husband, Soultaker.A cursed sword that traps the souls of its victims inside it. After that she was recruited for the Outsiders. Once worked for the Birds of Prey by Oracle's call as well. Her time with the Outsiders made her see what other heroes really think of her.While she battled along many like Batgirl, Catwoman, Hawkgirl, Batman, Black Lightning, all went the same way. Just a killer among other Outsiders they cannot trust. In her first time with them she was attacked by Lady Shiva after showing mercy to one young thug.The attack was a humiliating assault to take her sword but Shiva added insult to injury by stabbing Tatsu with the Soultaker. Leaving her to suffer and remember this humiliation of being unworthy of the title Samurai.. Still a legendary return with such a wound later to get back her sword.Through her return to the Outsiders she saw evil versions of her family. She saw her children and husband.. only to see the madness of the events behind their return and how they're back.... Through it all she killed thay evil reincarnation of her husband and witnessed her children die... again.After the events and the dismiss of the Outsiders she was with the Birds of Prey for a temporary team up. From dealing with metahumans and Ivy joining them to a team that came after her and wanted her sword, it was a nice team.Sure there was tension but that was always her problem to deal with. After she was recruited to Task Force X. That time she connected with Halo again, Gabrielle. A naive girl she was happy to protect and teach also hide from Waller to keep her innocent soul away.Now Gabrielle is far and safe and she learned that not everyone in the Squad is someone evil to the core. From Enchantres to Harley, all had their problems like her and they somehow managed to survive together. From team ups to battling Zod and so on she had a rough time.Even after her Birds Of Prey encounter she may have gained some friends even though they had tension they had tension at times, but they were good times. She reunited witb her husband as her soul was trapped and her body was possessed by Kobra before she left the Suicide Squad eventually getting her body back.Afterwards she joined Batman again to work with the Outsiders and met her foe, Shiva. Though they don't like each other they worked together to Ra's Al-Ghul and so far she sometimes worked with the Outsiders depending on her goals and theirs.She even teamed up once with Shiva again in a new Birds Of Prey team. From a rough start to almost dying only for Shiva to heal her it is unknown where this team goes... But at least they aren't killing each other now. What's next for Katana is unknown bur she's always here to aid others.
